Suddenly, I'm Scared

Acceptance. Acceptance into Brigham Young University-Provo. My dream since my oldest sister went there. My goal since I first applied in 2009. I've been in college for almost two years now, and finally have a plan for more than six months in advance.

A lot can happen in six months.

A year ago, I did not know my mom would die in six months. Six months ago I wasn't sure I would make it into BYU. Today I am not sure whether I'll be able to make new, good friends, get used to a new (and huge) campus, and pass a higher level of courses. It wasn't until I was officially accepted into BYU that I realized that I have a whole new life ahead of me. A whole set of new decisions to make.

In the meantime, I must continue in my general studies at Weber. In March I'm going to Arizona with essentially my only friend in this country on my Spring Break. (The rest of my friends are on missions or teaching English in China... or just seriously dating someone.) I receive my Associates' degree in April. In May I'm going to Seattle with my friend's siblings and their friends... I know, it sounds weird... And in June I'm going to London and Paris with my family!!! Oh the places life will take you if you only open the doors of opportunity :)

  1. There is a lot to look forward to for you. It is all a little scary but I know that you will do well. I am glad that you get to go on some fun vacations with friends and family.

  2. Congratulations!
I felt the same way when I started at BYU (I transferred after getting my Associates too), but you'll do great. And have lots of fun. And meet lots of new people. It's true a lot can happen in six months, and in a year you'll be looking back thinking what was I scared for.
