Summer

My summer started with a standstill, but gradually climbed its way to brilliance. You've already read about my Europe experience, which was AMAZING, but after that was yet another adventure. :) Two of my dear friends came home from a 5-month excursion in China on the Fourth of July and I've had mighty fun times since then.

I tubed the Weber River many times on a cheap tube from Target and haven't fallen out since the second time! Sitting there on a natural "lazy river" is just so peaceful, but so fun when little rapids come up. Even the ride up the canyon with the windows down and radio blasting is a great part of the whole event :)

I called into work sick so I could stay up late making s'mores, talking to friends, sleeping on the trampoline and tubing the river for a second day in a row.

Movie nights.

Scaring the living daylights out of my friend when he was home with no one but his friend who is also a scaredy cat. Long story short, I crept around the house, peeking in windows and making noise outside with a hoodie and sunglasses on. (It was earlier in the evening, so there was still some daylight) When I was spotted they called the cops and six of them showed up with their guns drawn. I was questioned and handcuffed until my friend validly verified that he knew me and it was all right.

My whole family got together for my oldest sister's wedding, even my sisters from Florida! The second oldest also brought her kids and it was a lot of fun to play with them. I especially loved the youngest who's 20 months old and grew to accept being comforted by me when her mom wasn't around. She's just a sweetie :) My brother and his wife had their second little girl while my dad and younger siblings were on Pioneer Trek, so there was a little surprise when they got home!
My sister was beautiful on her wedding day and it was a lot of fun to help out planning a preparing for her reception, complete with flavored lemonades, ice cream, banners, and flowers in mason jars.

The next upcoming event is going river rafting on the Snake with my friend and her family, and camping! I love camping.

Summer is so many things. It's being outside. It's being with the ones you love. It's fun and loud, relaxing and warm.

I love summer!!!

  1. Guns drawn and handcuffs? haha. That's a good story. Summers in college are the best! Enjoy
