Powerhouse

On Saturday I went to a concert at a little theater called Velour to support the local band called Powerhouse. I really like their sound, so after I first heard them at the Village I liked them on Facebook so I could get updates. Granted, they were known as Aakela (pronouced Uh-kee-luh) then, but I think Powerhouse fits them better. My boyfriend, Alex introduced me to Aakela at their first concert since the whole group got off their missions. Alex was in a couple of the members' freshman ward his first semester at BYU so we went to support them.

Anyway, the concert was a lot of fun and super loud. I liked being a part of that scene that I'd only heard about growing up. The style of the place was very "Indie" and the two bands I heard were both really good, definitely fitting that "hipster" mold. What was really amazing was after Powerhouse performed there were free demo cds with a few of their songs on it. Let's just say I'm obsessed and now listen to those four songs on repeat everyday. :)
