Starting Anew

This last semester at BYU has been a real trial. My workload was too heavy because of all the classes I was taking, and instead of taking initiative to do it all, I simply skimped out on it... just like a freshman. People ask me what my major is, so I'll tell them- "Family and Consumer Science Education." "Huh?" "FACS ED." "Huh?" "Like, teaching Home Ec." "Oh!!! That sounds like fun!" Yeah... Then they expect me to know everything about what classes I have to take, all about the program, etc, but I have no idea. I just take one semester at a time and hope I survive. This semester (which starts on Monday, GAH!) should be a little better. 5 classes and a lab, instead of 7, and I'll have more time available to study and do homework in the afternoons because of availability requirements for jobs.

I'm working to get a new job right now. One that pays more, because I've found that minimum wage doesn't cut it when you have to pay rent, utilities, buy groceries, and try to have fun with people. I'm also trying to save as much money as possible because the future is coming faster than originally planned, if you know what I mean. (*cough* the boyfriend and I have discussed things *cough*)

As it is now 2013, I have thought back to how I've changed in the last year. Boy, have I changed. I feel like I've grown so much from living without my mom to guide and help me, trying to care for the younger sibs, develop a relationship with my dad, transfer schools, and date someone seriously, but it's all been for the better. I can now look back and say I'm thankful for my trials, because they make me stronger. :)
