In the last week I've had fun keeping in touch with 3 of my 4 sisters.
I'm a dreamer, and I like to talk about what I hope for (like my little
sister to be at my wedding, for instance) but the BF didn't really like
how often it came up. So after a fight with him, I decided I should reconsider the way I think about things. I called my oldest sister for advice since she recently planned a wedding and she told me to plan without him knowing. I've since finalized some ideas that I wish to see on "the big day" and have been able to keep quiet about it.
After finding out how expensive reception centers and realizing that I have no ties to anyone with a large backyard or something, I became frustrated and texted my little sister. She's since helped me come up with more ideas in terms of incorporating colors into a reception and even started a board on Pinterest dedicated for possible plans.
Yesterday during class my sister who lives in Florida and loves to sew offered to make my dress for me! I hadn't even thought about that detail other than the fact that I want lace, so I've had to make some decisions quick... it came easier than I thought. I've been able to discuss styles, color, sleeves, necklines, fabric and even length of the dress and it's been quite the adventure!
I'm so thankful for my sisters and for supporting me through this important part of my relationship. I've really worried about planning and stuff that I would normally call on my mom for but sisters work just as well :)
PS! I believe a special shoutout to Pinterest is in order! I couldn't do it without you!!!
What are sisters for?! We love you, Erin!!
