The Word About My Mother

My mom had her third chemo treatment last Friday. Only three to five more to go! :) Since her last chemo treatment, her platelet count is down again. On Monday it was at 22,000 and as of yesterday it was down to 19,000. Originally, the doctor was saying that she'd have to do a platelet infusion if it dropped that drastically before her trip to Florida, but infusions are complicated so doctors usually wait until the count is down to 8,000. Being stuck in the middle, my mom's doctor is still allowing her to take a trip because he understands how badly she wants to go. She and my dad are going to visit my sister and see my 3-month old niece be blessed. :) They haven't seen my sister or my niece since four months before my mom was even diagnosed with cancer.
The treatments have been working, and my mom's been feeling movement in her intestines. It is for that reason that she doesn't throw up as much, perhaps only one or two times daily.
