Mom Update

Today my mom want back to Huntsman (the place she had her surgery done in October) for a check-up. The doctor said that after her sixth treatment, they'll do a scan to see if they need to do yet another surgery to get rid of the cancer that hasn't cleared up by then. If that is the case, they'll take out parts of her intestines, so her digestive track will be clear. My mom's wound from the first surgery still hasn't completely healed because of the killing of the good cells, so as part of this check-up the doctor closed it up completely. We're hoping it doesn't develop another infected pocket again.
My mom's been having a hard time believing that chemo is working. She has some BM, but not much, and she's been throwing up a lot more lately. It's been really rough on her. The doctor said that it is working though, because she's still on this earth. And I'm so thankful for that!

This next Monday, she'll go in for her fifth treatment. She's been doing chemo once a week, every three weeks since the end of December now.
