I'm a little late, but I can officially start calling myself a Harry Potter fan! I've been reading the books since mid-December, and just barely finished the fifth one. Oh, the detail! There's so much that the movies miss that it's just sad! There are so many aspects in the movies that left me clueless, but to read the books is to have my eyes opened. Especially after seeing the 7th Harry Potter movie, I was so confused... but I've been able to read all the events that lead up to then (well, almost... I'm still working on it) and things actually make sense now. :)

I'm on your blog to find out about your mom (I'm a friend of Adrienne's but will probably meet you one of these days) but I can't help chiming in about Harry Potter. My husband has gone through the series himself, but I had to explain half of what happened in the HP7 part 1 movie because I had finished the book only a week before and it had been maybe two years for my husband. You enjoy the detail in the books that isn't covered in the movies... HP7 is no different, despite the two movies. I am of the opinion that the Part 1 movie doesn't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't read the books because it moves so quickly and skips so much. The same could be said about #6 in some respects. Anyway... Enjoy the end of the series. There's nothing quite like it.
