The platelet count is up to 33,000 but it's not good enough. The doctor said they'll have to wait until it's up to almost 100,000. No chemo for today... hopefully on Monday. My mom just wants the cancer to be gone, to get the new chemo started so she can get on her way with life, so today was a disappointment.
Today I also learned that the normal potassium rate is 3.5. Last Friday when she was tested, my mom was at 1.9. The nurse and my aunt (who is also a nurse) both said they've never heard of it being so low. Low potassium causes heart damage. It is because of my mom's vomiting that she is deprived of potassium, but after being on TPN all week, her potassium, electrolytes, and vitamins are normal :)
So good to hear the TPN is helping! I pray for you guys everyday!
