Today we found out that the best solution to my mom's situation is to put a tube in her stomach. So, on Monday she's going into the doctor and they'll hook her up. I'm not exactly sure what the procedure will be, but she'll need a week to get used to how it works. This tube will drain all the crud out of my mom's stomach anytime she feels the need to throw up, therefore eliminating the need for it to come out the nasty way. This will save her teeth and esophagus from any more damage because of the bacteria in the throw up. The tube sounds like it'll be a good thing.
As soon as she's used to the stomach tube, she'll probably start yet another round of chemo. Hopefully her platelet count will get back up from 39,000 by then.
